Founded in 1999, Coastal Tees was inspired by my love for the ocean, passion to travel, and my natural knack for making conversation.

I set out to sell high quality American made and printed T-Shirts to resort towns, primarily in coastal cities across the US. The concept was simple, yet unique; visit bars in the desired city and convince the bar owners their logo would look awesome printed on a T-Shirt inside a pilsner or shot glass.

With a little convincing (and a lot of pounding the pavement), I partnered with a talented artist and conceptualized the initial design. Beach Bars of the Outer Banks was the first market I opened. Although the design has evolved over the years, the shirt is still a best seller.

Now in 2013, I have over 50 markets  and have expanded beyond beach resorts, to ski resorts, college & universities as well as many retail shops. My designs have also expanded and Irish T-Shirt concepts have been booming… Everyone wants to buy Irish shirts from a guy whose last name is Flynn!

John was born and raised on the Jersey Shore. After attending boarding school in Connecticut and college in Rhode Island, he made his way west for a few years to Hermosa Beach, CA. However he found his was back to his roots and lives in wonderful NJ with his wife, two sons and Labradoodle.
